Queensland State Election Candidates
Beaudesert
Jim Savage
My name is Jim Savage. I am 56 years old, married for 14 years and the proud father of two beautiful (twin) 5 year old daughters, adopted from the Philippines.
After growing up in Brisbane and attending Brisbane Grammar, I went to work in Papua New Guinea at the age of 18. I was involved in trucking, trade stores, coffee plantations and cattle production, at one stage running 10,000 head of Brahman cattle and buffalo in the Markham Valley.
I returned to Australia when our family purchased Bromelton House at Beaudesert in 1989. For the next 20 years I lived at Bromelton House, cropping, raising cattle and establishing the pecan nut plantation which is a major feature of the property, featuring in several T.V. programs over the years.
I am currently working for the oil and gas exploration industry in PNG, involved mainly in landowner disputes and negotiations with resource companies, a job which I specialise in due to my language skills and long history with the local people and willingness to go into dangerous areas where others won’t.
I am the current State President of the One Nation political party, a position I have held for 3 years. I firmly believe our great State and Nation are being dragged into a dangerous position by our selfish ”party before electorate, jobs for the boys” politicians, who care far less for the people they represent than they should and must.
I am running for Beaudesert because I am very disappointed by the lack of integrity of the current sitting member, whose new and most recent party interestingly enough has adopted One Nation policies rather than make their own, and the weakness of the LNP. Labor must go and the alternative government needs One Nation in its ranks to keep it to its promises and watch its performance and continually remind it of what it is there for .We will put backbone in the government! We won’t govern Queensland but we want a say on behalf of the silent decent people who are being forgotten by our current 2 party system.
