If They Sell Qantas They're Selling Part of Australia

When  the Government allows the sale of Qantas to a private consortium they will be selling  part of Australia.

Qantas isn't just a bank account and a board table and  some big figures at the end of a balance sheet, it's a national icon with a memory, a history, a tradition and  a good name. All these are concepts that would have no meaning  to the vultures in suits with seven figure annual bonuses who want to get their grubby hands on it.

The new consortium might change the name - Queensland and Northern Territory Air Service will look like a relic from our pioneering  past when globalization wasn't thought of, individual endeavor was the order of the day, we owned our own country and  Governments provided and owned essential services, including a national airline.

Keeping jobs in Australia is also a pipe dream as when they break the company up the new consortium will outsource cabin crew and  maintenance to make sure they pay minimum wages and score maximum profits for themselves. Anyway our Government will have no way of enforcing  it.

One Nation says to the Government: for once,  be interventionist, block this consortium, roll back globalization and save what's left of Australia.
