Latest News on Global Warming Does Not Change One Nation's Position

The so-called scientific finding that the past decade has been the warmest on record does not change One Nation's position that human produced carbon dioxide is not making the world warmer or causing the climate to change.

Several facts must be considered:

It is manifestly true that the climate always changes.

Records at best only go back 100 years which is nothing in comparison to the age of the Earth.

The great man himself, Lord Monckton, agreed the world was on a gradual warming curve, which would be followed by a gradual cooling curve, as has happened through the history of the planet.

The question is, is it carbon dioxide produced by humans that is causing the warming? History shows no correlation between increase in carbon dioxide and increase in temperature, and there can be no cause without correlation. If anything increase in CO2 follows the increase in warming which would be logical as the ability of a liquid to hold a gas in solution is inversely proportional to the temperature so when the oceans warm dissolved CO2 is released.

Of all the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere water vapour is 97 per cent and CO2 is only 2 per cent. Of this 2 per cent only 3 per cent is produced by human activity. The rest comes from soil, vegetation and the oceans.

There have been times when it is a lot warmer than now, when Greenland was ice free and you could grow melons in the open in England and carbon dioxide produced was manifestly a fraction of what is produced now, and times when the world was cooler, in the ice ages and even in the 1600s when the Thames River in London froze over.

Therefore One Nation continues to say anthropogenic climate change is at best false science and at worst mass hysteria and a scam from which some people hope to make money. One Nation will block any carbon tax introduced into parliament.
