Who Should We Blame For The Bali 9? - Liberal and Labor 21/10/2005

The Bali 9 face death for allegedly trafficking heroin into Australia.

Pretty disgusting, eh?. Who should we blame?

We blame Liberal and Labor.

Under the misnamed policy of harm minimisation promoted openly by Labor and covertly by Liberal, it is for all intents and purposes now legal to inject yourself with heroin in Australia.

Much publicity is given to big drug busts, yet the police don't break down peoples' front doors and cart them off to jail for sticking a needle in their arm, do they?

Well, we think they should.

If addicts are allowed to use drugs, someone is going to have to supply it to them, and one way they do that is by strapping it to their bodies and smuggling it in on a plane from Bali. By turning a blind eye to the users, our State Labor Government and the Federal Government have created the very market that the Bali nine were allegedly supplying.

Voters should look seriously at the record the different parties have in pursuing the war on drugs, and consider the consequences of putting them back into power, or perhaps the next group of kids lined up in court in Bali might be theirs.
