What was this article really all about?
What was this really all about? Insight Courier-Mail 3 – 12 – 2011 pages 52 / 53 their heading " Let the Sun Shine in".
The prelude to a full dose of feel good rhetoric bound in a self praise media ramble. Be that as it was, why did Campbell Newman's photograph cop a white out dot fair between the eyes?
Did the words 'digitally altered' "in the article in brackets" refer to the conspicuous white dot in the picture accompanying the article?
Fortunately for any minors who may have glanced at the modified photo the dot splatter was not red.
This Courier-Mail phenomenon, the dot white-out smudge has occurred before. Twelve years ago on the 2nd October 1998 one day before a federal election held on 3rd October 1998 Pauline Hanson's " One Nation " placed an expensive election advertisement in the Courier-Mail and part of that advertisement was headed " One Nation stands for ..." one line of this section was supposed to read " Stop the sell off of Australian assets. (Telstra). The white-out smudge occurred over the words 'stop the' so that the context of this message was changed to read 'sell off Australian assets' ( Telstra).
This bad luck (ha ha) incident for One Nation in itself did not change the results of the election, but it did spark volumes of media comment at the time. Now with what occurred to Newman on 3 – 12 – 2011 has anything really changed with the snide attitude of Murdoch's Courier Mail?
